TWO COLOUR SCREEN PRINT

posted in by bradpengelly

When it comes to screen printing, one colour is printed at a time which means that several screens can be used to produce a multicoloured image or design.

We were excited when Too Busy Living came to us with this design as it really took us back to the 1950’s. Not only does the logo design represent this era but so do the colours used within it, we like it!

In order for this to come out exactly to the client’s request, we used a two colour screen print, discharge printing method. To achieve this, the two colour screen print needs to be applied at different times. We start with one colour, put this through the dryer and then add the other colour. The discharge printing part of the method means that it uses a chemical process to remove the dye in the fibres of the t shirt and replaces it with the colours we applied.

By using this process, the final print leaves a clean, soft and breathable print on the t shirt.

If you are not a fan of the Summer time back sweat or hate the plastic feeling that prints sometimes give you then discharge printing is the way to go, no more complaining about the heat!
